Township Board Meeting

A Township Board Meeting of the Charter Township of Garfield was held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Garfield Township Hall, 3848 Veterans Drive, Traverse City, Michigan. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. and the Board transacted the following business:

1. Public Comment – Ann Drury commented on Pearl Rose Lane.
2. Amended agenda by noting there will not be a verbal MMR report. Approved the amended agenda.
3. Approved February 25 and 26, 2025 meeting minutes as presented.
4. Approved the Consent Calendar as presented.
5. Approved Budget amendment to cover the pass through grant for Angel Care Childcare, Resolution 2025-05-T.
6. Approved financing for GT Metro’s aerial ladder truck purchase, Resolution 2025-05-T.
7. Received the County Commissioner’s Report from Lauren Flynn
8. Received the Sheriff’s Report from Lt. Roy Raska
9. Received the GT Metro Fire Report from Chief Paul Mackin
10. Received the MMR Report in writing
11. Received the Planning Dept. Monthly Report for March from John Sych
12. Received the Parks & Recreation Report from Sean Kehoe
13. Received the Clerk’s Report from Lanie McManus
14. Received the Township Manager’s Report from Chris Barsheff, discussed Pearl Rose Lane appeal
15. Received the Supervisor’s Report from Joe McManus
16. Approved Supervisor executing the Settlement Agreement with Lamar OCI North, LLC.
17. Approved Supervisor signing the Angel Care Childcare Grand Traverse Band 2% grant application.
