| Purposes of this Ordinance |
| The purposes of this Ordinance are to protect the public health, safety,
morals, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the Township, to provide
for adequate light, air and convenience of access to secure safety from
fire and other dangers; to avoid undo concentration of population by regulating
and limiting types and locations of buildings and regulating the location
of trades, industries and buildings designated for specific uses; to provide
for the orderly development of the Township; to encourage the use of lands
and resources of the Township in accordance with their character and adaptability;
to provide for safety in traffic, adequate parking and to reduce hazards
to life and property; to facilitate the development of adequate systems
of fire protection, education, recreation, water supplies and sanitary
facilities; and to conserve life, property, natural resources and the use
of public funds for public services and improvements to conform with the
most advantageous use of lands, resources and properties. |
| Duties of the Zoning Administrator |
It shall be the duty of the Zoning Administrator to receive applications
for land use permits and issue or deny the same; to inspect buildings
or structures; to determine compliance with the land use permits issued
in compliance with this Ordinance; and to be in charge of the enforcement
of this Ordinance. The Township Board may in its discretion instruct
the Zoning Administrator to make effort to obtain voluntary compliance
with this Ordinance. The Township Board may instruct the Zoning Administrator
in writing to initiate a criminal complaint or other legal action.
Under no circumstances is the Zoning Administrator permitted to make
changes in this Ordinance nor to vary its terms in carrying out his duties. |
