Township Board Meeting
A Township Board Meeting of the Charter Township of Garfield was held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, beginning at 6:00 p.m., at the Garfield Township Hall,
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. and the Board transacted the following business:
- Public Comment – Mary Kandel asked about the 70 acre development that is taking place on Herkner Road. Korn informed her that the land on Herkner has been put into trust by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and that they are not required to get Township approval for their residential development.
- Approved the Agenda.
- Approved Minutes from September 26, 2017 Township Board Meeting and the September 26, Study Session.
- Approved the Consent Calendar.
- Received the Sheriff’s Report from Lt. Chris Barsheff.
- Received the written Clerk’s Report from Lanie McManus.
- Received the Supervisor’s Report from Chuck Korn regarding a letter of recommendation for the Botanical Gardens to the Dow Foundation, Safe Routes to School discussions, a fall on TCAP’s property and various upcoming committee meetings.
- Held a public hearing and approved Resolution 2017-19-T(c), a resolution approving the Tentative Special Assessment Roll for the Heritage Way Entry Road Special Assessment District.
- Held a public hearing and approved the 2017 Charter Township of Garfield Millage Rate.
- Received an update from Steve Largent on the Cass Road Drain Project.
- Public Comment – None
