Barlow Garfield Neighborhood Plan
The Barlow Garfield Neighborhood Plan is Garfield Township’s plan to help guide future land use and development for a portion of the east side of the township. This neighborhood, the study area for the subplan, includes both sides of the street on portions of Barlow Street, South Airport Road, Garfield Avenue, and surrounding sites.
The first step in this planning process was to compile an Existing Conditions Report analyzing the demographics, housing, economy, environment, and other key information about the neighborhood. The Existing Conditions Report can be viewed here.
The Township held a Public Input Session on Monday October 21, 6:00 PM at the Grand Traverse County Health Services Building. Attendees engaged in a visual preference survey, looking at different designs of places with regards to how appropriate they might be for the Barlow Garfield neighborhood.
